Stand in Solidarity: Mizzou Students Take a Costly Stand

As a minority it is never easy standing up for yourself or your race in its entirety, but the brave and courageous students at Missouri University chose to stand up to all the people that seemed in favor of inequality. I was so proud of every single student that stood up for what they believed in, and with that faith and persistance they were able to get the president to resign. It especially gave me chills when the football team refused to practice or play, until they saw change implemented on and around their campus. This type of tenacity is what our ancestors did about fifty years ago in the Civil Rights Movement. The university "stood in solidarity" with the students of Mizzou because inequality anywhere is a threat to equality everywhere.
