I am not much a Kobe fan so to hear that he is finally throwing in the towl I was ecstatic. Kobe has clearly left his mark on the NBA league and will be remembered for years to come much like Michael Jordan. Now let us take a moment to be completely honest about Kobe and his abilities or lack thereof on the court. His past few seasons have been less than sub-par and this retirement from the league is long overdue. I give him much respect for the years of blood, sweat, tears and dedication he has given to the game, but his character as a whole is not much to be proud of. It is safe to say that I along with a few others are happy to see him go. He wrote this poem about his leaving, that ended quite bittersweet: "Ball in my hands.5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1Love you always,Kobe"
